Lisa Dila, about 70km west of Dili: originally established by the Indonesian government as part of its transmigration programme. After the referendum and the civil unrest in August/September 1999 all the original inhabitants left.
Today the village is home to about 430 East Timorese families whose homes were destroyed during the conflict in September 1999.
